Hello all!

In an incredibly shameless self-promotion alert, I taped my 5th game show "Catch-21" this past month.

"Catch-21" debuts on July 21. I do not know my air date.

However, I participated in a behind the scenes special called: THE MAKING OF A GAME SHOW: CATCH 21 which will debut on Saturday July 19th at 4:00PM and Sunday July 20th at 2:00PM and 10:00PM. You will see me and my father as well.

I was kinda surprised not to hear you being called on to "Come on Down!"

The only possible reason I can see for that choice is if gameplay somehow involves contestants doing the Carlton dance in some form or another. And if that's not the case, it should be. There's a gameshow premise in there somewhere.

Anyone else watch Catch-21 last night? I'll watch again when Jason's episode airs (if we can find out when that is) but the show won't compete with J!, otherwise.

Three players basically play a game of 21, with some (generally pop culture) trivia questions thrown in. Each contestant is dealt one card to start with, then the contestant getting the question right has control over keeping the next card or giving it to another player, hoping to bust them. One player is eliminated in the first round, then the winner of the second round gets to play for the money.

In the money round, the contestant plays three hands and can decide which hand to assign each new card. Plus there are two Burger King "Have it your way" chips that let the contestant discard a card instead of keeping it. Getting one 21 is worth $1,000, two gets $5,000 and all three gets $25,000, but get just one busted hand and you leave with nothing.

One contesant was dominating the question rounds but answered incorrectly at a crucial moment in the second round, which let his opponent control the winning card. She ended up walking away with $5,000 for getting two blackjacks out of those three hands.

I'd be curious what the odds are with these rules? Is going for the third hand a good bet with the 4:1 payoff?
