Sports Bra Chafing

#1 Post by peacock2121 » Fri Nov 02, 2007 8:54 am

I had that issue too. I know I am not built with anything that anyone could call a rack, so the way I solved it may not work for those who have racks.

I bought a smaller size than I really wear. I got a 32, instead of a 34. My chafing always happened at the middle of my rib cage, right where the elastic hit. When I made that measurement smaller, the chafing stopped. Somehow, the smaller size also keeps me from bouncing - although, I can't bounce much.

There is a product called Body Glide sold at running shops - I does wonders for all kinds of chafing.

Without going into too much gory detail, let me add that SWMBO (who has the opposite type problem as Pea) had to go to much more carefully fitted bras in order to continue to work out.

I'd seen an article about sports bras in the news recently. Does Skippy know about this research opportunity?

You noted the figure eight, which didn't faze me. I was stunned by "23 pounds."

I've seen a pair of D cups. I have seen what they do to a woman's back and what the bra that can hold those things up can do to one's shoulders. 11.5 pounds each doesn't surprise me.

Thinking of my breasts doing a figure eight, blows my mind.

One of the reasons why I walk, rather than run, for exercise, is that my top ends up hurting with too much bouncing. Sports bras have never worked for me, I just wear my regular bras that have the molded cups.

My oldest laments the lack of growth on top. I tell her that she should feel lucky, she looks better in clothes and she looks thinner than she would if she was running around with "C" or "D" cups.

I have regular light sports bras that I can use for most cardio, and then I have some don't make me bounce at all sports bras. But the heavier one, tends to cause chaffing on the sides and where the seams are. The glide stuff doesn't work.

I hate the design of all of them.

Unfortunately, I have had this rack since I was 10 years old. I have also tried sport type bras...don't work too well for us endowed gals.

OMG, when I was a freshman in HS, I was in marching in a parade and my bra strap broke. Had to do a quick fix job, til we finished the parade.

Men...yous guys are SO lucky!

However, the good news is... when I lose weight...it comes off the rack first.

I am starting exercising with a trainer today...so, I will be looking for knew support equipment soon! I will do research and report back.

Oh, yeah, the truly BAD part of the rack is that I have arthritis in the middle of my back.

I have survived without an endowment.

I sure wouldn't mind having a trust fund, though.

A great friend of mine from college used to have double DD's. And she's 6'1. Most guys would be conversing with the girls rather than with her. She had breast reduction years ago due to the pain and weight and it made a tremendous difference for her. She's also very athletic.

Of course, not that I jog, but if I were to jog, I would list to the right. And get bruises on my right knee.

Thank you. Thank you.
Well, then

I am expecting salacious commentary from travis at any moment.

Did you see my post in the other thread? I forget which one. Regarding Bengals.

I found the post after I found this post.

I took a picture of Jasper, so you can see what he looks like now.

Aren't his spots pretty. His rib stripes make him "pet quality" rather than "show quality" or "breeding quality."

You can't tell from the picture, but the markings on his forehead above his eye resemble the figure in the picture "The Scream."
