$25,000 - Category: Sports
Airing thirty-five years apart, the first and last ABC Monday Night Football games both ended with what team losing 31-21?

A: Miami Dolphins B: Green Bay Packers
C: New York Jets D: Dallas Cowboys

With 22 seconds left, Lawrence asks the audience.

ATA: A: 23% B: 23% C: 37% D: 17%

Meredith mentions it was a big risk - Lawrence comments that he thinks Bill Nye doesn't look like a big jock
Spoiler
C: New York Jets (17)

$50,000 - Category: Jazz
Which of these terms do jazz musicians use to refer to a musical mistake, such as a missed or wrong note?

A: Squash B: Clam
C: Sausage D: Cabbage

With 39 seconds left, Lawrence uses ATE and goes to Bill Nye.

Meredith notes that Bill Nye has been right with ever ATE so far. Bill finds it quite difficult. He goes with intuition and goes with Sausage - but says it is not based on musical knowledge just by how sausage is made.

Lawrence goes with Bill's answer and leaves with $25,000.
Spoiler
B: Clam (33)

I have all of my lifelines still available.

I'd have used the DD on this one, guessing Miami first and then New York. I knew it was an AFC team.

Tough question, and it didn't matter that Lawrence didn't STAY CLAM® because he'd have left with $25K either way. I've never heard the term and I don't think any of the PAFs I'd have had would either. elwing is a jazz fan and she hadn't heard the term. I don't know how googlable this would be.

$25K: I didn't pay attention to who played in the last MNF game. So much for my thinking that I could waltz through the first ten without a lifeline. I would've used the audience, but since 37% was very unconvincing, I also would've phoned a friend.

$50K: I thought for sure it was a sausage, so I would've gone home with $25K and two unused lifelines.

Tough questions!

ATA for me at $25K and Google PAF at $50K.

It's a shame that Bill Nye had to miss one, right after Meredith jinxed him with that "always been right" banter.

I can find absolutely no citation for this.

Probably would not have trusted my gut on the $25K, so would have used a lifeline to verify it.

Knew the $50K. Ghu knows why or from where. No idea of its origins. I think it's referred to as "catching a (see the spoiled answer)".
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Apparently, neither the Daily Kos nor Huffington Post has a jazz section.

Hmmmm, that's how I found it. Google: jazz clam slang and it's the first hit.

I haven't heard of that term before, but if you mean that I've chosen the keywords carefully to make it the #1 hit, isn't that dependent on the fact that the site is indexed on Google?
