No idea. Might as well try ATA and hope for a good result.

So I'd still have one JTQ remaining.

Is it just me, or does this one seem like a W.W.O.Q.? It definitely seems far from the common knowledge of the average person. Just sayin'.

It's probably just you. A and B are nowhere near France, and there has always been a lot of press fascination with Monaco's need to have a male heir, especially when Prince Ranier married America's sweetheart Grace Kelly in order to accomplish that objective.

The 1918 treaty may be WWOQ material, but there were other clues here. Malta was British territory (British Commonwealth, now?) and Liechtenstein is between Switzerland and Austria; no way France would have any influence over them. So that immediately makes it at least a 50/50.

Andorra is between France and Spain and has a strange political balance between the two (The role of monarch is exercised jointly by the two co-princes, the Bishop of Urgell and the current President of France, says the Wikipedia page). Knowing that is probably WWOQ material, too, but most important point for me is that there's no royal family that anyone would have ever heard of. Monaco's royal family, on the other hand, has been rather visible since Prince Ranier married Princess Grace.

BTW, the date 1918 had me thinking of the end of World War I. I couldn't think of why France would be concerned with Monaco in the middle of all that. Wikipedia answered that for me:
The Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861 granted sovereignty to Monaco. Previously, under the Treaty of Vienna it had been a protectorate of the Kingdom of Sardinia.

A second treaty was agreed on July 17, 1918, owing to a possible succession crisis near the end of the First World War.[1] At the time the heir to the Monagasque throne had no legitimate children, and the possibility of his German cousins succeeding in future to the throne was unacceptable to the French.[2]

Well, I didn't know the part about the German threat to take over Monaco, so you get bonus points for that.

FWIW, I thought Monaco before the choices came up. Andorra gave me pause as I knew it was between France and Spain, and did not recall its history well as Marley described.
