I'd wager that if this guy had worked out the Scooby Doo question, the audience would have given him the right answer on the president question. Also, I'd swear I saw this president question somewhere last night at work, but I can't for the life of me work out where.

We usta have Apaches, Arapahos, Cheyenne, Ancestral Puebloans, Shoshone, and Utes. Officially, we now have only Utes. That's all moot, though. The Seminoles are widely identified with Florida.

I think it derives from "mollusks or Mollusca," not "mal."

I could eliminate mushrooms because they are myconids. My guess was seashells.
