I always thought Hans and Franz were spoofs of Arnold Schwarzenegger, so they'd be Austrian, not German. Am I wrong about that?

Fancy Farm is most famous in these parts for the annual picnic hosted by the Catholic church. It has become a place where politicians can sound off - making campaign speeches (if it's an election year) or just making speeches.

Four questions gone and three lifelines used. It doesn't look good.

When I heard the question I wondered why they specified 1943 pennies - as if steel pennies from other years had other names. Turns out there weren't any - 1943 was the only year they were minted. Meredith noted that they could be identified because they were attracted by magnets, to which I joked to elwing, "And the color is probably a dead giveaway also".

Yes, the color is clearly different. If the penny is too dirty to notice that, one could always look for the "1943" date.

I wonder who's writing these little details for Meredith to slip in after the answer is revealed? If she's trying to imitate Trebek's all-knowing confidence, it would help if she stopped admitting that she also thought so many contestants' wrong answers were the right one.
