The first American to win the Tour de France was Greg LeMond.

(He's a sweetheart. I got to meet him year ago, thanks to Adventure Boy.)

The first American to win an Olympic gold medal in figure skating was Dick Button.

(Sonja Henie was Norwegian. I don't know if she gained American citizenship later, after she went into movies, but she never competed for the U.S.)

The Gulls edge ahead a bit more.

Name a movie director who, according to IMDB, has used the pseudonym Alan Smithee for one or more motion pictures.

Harry Handhauser rose to cinematic success as a special visual effects creator. Name one film for which his effects are credited.

Both Qs have lots and lots of right answers, so if you don't know, you still have a good chance of guessing correctly.
Steven Speilberg

Star Wars

Spoiler
I believe I have five definite gaps in my vast supply of knowledge and I also believe you're going to manage to coincidentally hit all five of them tonight.

Steven Spielberg

Star Wars

Both WAGs.
Wonder what it means when dk and I think the same twice in a row.

Mini, you're up early....we were in chat until after 1:30am your time.
Is DC up and at it already?

I missed Gender Defender, but I'm not sure if we all need the spoiler thing. Doesn't that make it one more step for the meister to score? Maybe not.
Anyway, maybe I'll make it next week and find out for myself. I just know it took me a while to get through this thread to see everyone's answers by having to click on the spoiler each time.

I'll quit whining now.
