#1 Post by etaoin22 » Fri Oct 17, 2008 9:10 pm

B - The first published crappy game played by a chess computer, generating snickers all around, though admiration for those who had performed such an obviously useless task, entered the chess news reports of

1 - 1947
2 - 1957
3 - 1967
4 - 1977

G - Bright intellectual women were way back in the day, made fun of a little, by being called

1 - yellowstockings
2 - greenstockings
3 - redstockings
4 - bluestockings

I will guess 1957 (but if that's not right, it's 47, after all.) There wasn't much else to do in 1957 after you'd had the drag race between the Ford Fairlane and the Chevy Bellaire, and everybody cruised to the A&W for a root beer.

Bluestockings.
Now generating the White Hot Glare of Righteousness on behalf of BBs everywhere.

I will mark this up pending, and give Q4.

Its 1967... I remember reading the game, and it was really bad. NOBODY then believed, well almost nobody, what would be accomplished by sheer computing power in the coming decades.

Bluestockings.

And for my record, I dont think either of these is the million dollar question in that BR_______ category.

16-15 for B.

well, t-bone gets in there for four points. 20-15.
