The rebar answer is too good to pass up.

I am going to guess Etta James, because she was dissing Beyonce for singing At Last at the Inauguration. IIRC, however, she was all smiles posing with Beyonce when Beyonce was playing her in Cadillac Records.

I have to say 3...Don't know why it wouldn't be 3, but I suspect I will find out shortly.

Christie, "the silly answer" I thought to be the second best of the four. and the best distractor, which maybe it was.

In any other situation, I would demand a definition of "big winds." I live in Oklahoma, where concrete and rebar, anchored to a foundation, is considered the safest shelter for tornados with winds from 100 to 300 m.p.h. Wooden structures with modern construction techniques seem to survive very well at winds up to 100-plus m.p.h., although blowing debris has been known to take out windows.

I haven't heard about this. I don't think American news media report any negative comments about the new Prez.

Please amend my answer to use the phrase, "U.S. news media." Yes, I agree that the word "American" can be more inclusive than a single nation.

OK THE ANSWER IS.....

WOOD!!!

A well constructed wood-frame house can bend and sustain stresses which will make an average brick and mortar load-bearing wall collapse. So, British Columbia hopes to convince builders all across the typhoon-ridden Far East to buy BC softwood lumber and build such homes.

Etta James..

I did not know she was still performing. I am inclined to think she also should have been invited to the Inaugural Ball.

Final scrore. something wildly like 25-15 for melly and T-bone...

Cool! nice goin', melly! Always helps me when there are baseball & music questions (along with a couple of lucky guesses on my part) involved.

I saw Etta James in concert a few years back. She couldn't even stand for 2 songs.

I did not hear about her dissing Obama.

I should pay more attention.
