welcome Bob.

DSOTM was nearly a starter question today.

This one is 1989 Rockin in the Free World. Whose ambiguity of meaning, but vigor in playing, has made it a fave for sigh nearly two decades now.

Bette Davis Eyes is the soundtrack to the Summer of '81. Kim Carnes and a fine album, Mistaken Identity.

Q3 - NOTES FROM THE PERMA CAMPAIGN:

B - Senator Obama's now legendary tenpin score of 37 was attained at a fine bowling establishment in the town of Altoona, Pennsylvania, a place most famously associated with which industry:

1 - Ketchup
2 - Woodworking
3 - Coalmining
4 - Railroading

G - Senator Clinton apparently was noted to have swigged this whiskey brand, to the disapproval of some:

1 - Jim Beam
2 - Jack Daniels
3 - Johnnie Walker
4 - Crown Royal.

Railroading -- Pennsy Railroad steam shops, and the Horseshoe CUrve.

Crown Royal: Mr. Bronfman moved everything somewhere else than Canada, so I dont think it qualifes as being from here anymore, but it aint one of those classic American brands. ( I mean Edgar B, who thought he was a real life Michael Corleone.... get out of even the LEGAL intoxicating drumg business into entertainment. Lost lots of family shirts...)

Q4: NEWS FROM THE WORLD: I GET TO ASK A SHOE QUESTION.

B - In what official language of the United Nations did Pope Benedict begin, and give most of his address to the General Assembly?

(And I dont think he was wearing his Gucci red loafers, but I didnt check. )

G - 700 jobs down the drain in Canada, and Lou Dobbs won't even notice. It seems this fine fad footwear cannot abide North American wages of up to fifteen bucks, and will henceforth be made only in the third world.
