FNGD Q2 - Friday May 23, ACID JAZZ

#1 Post by etaoin22 » Fri May 23, 2008 9:12 pm

Now if I really had a question on such a topic, it wuld be good

B - The "serum acid phosphatase" test is now outmoded for several decades, having been replaced by the "PSA" test, in the monitoring for which malady?

G - Addition of vinegar to the cooking water firms up nicely this type of egg.

Science and cooking!

WooHoo!

Prostate test

Poached eggs. Lemon juice works as well and complements the lemon juice option in the Hollandise nicely!

Prostate Cancer - David's Dad died of PC so he gets these regularly.

Hard boiled eggs - I just heard about this recently - it's supposed to make them easier to peel.

Every time I hear that somebody is having a PSA, I have the initial thought of "Why is he doing a public service announcement?"

Uh oh Doc.

I wonder if vinegar has a similar effect even through a shell. Hmmm, haven't heard of it myself though.

I've recently done the vinegar hardboiled egg thing. Never did the poached egg vinegar thing. It will be interesting to see.

The shells are sometimes easier to peel.

Beebs,

The vinegar in the water when you poach eggs keeps the white together. It tightens up the white so it doesn't spread out and get wispy. You really can't taste it.

Next time you poach eggs just wplash some white vinegar in the water

Am I the only one who giggled about the similar shapes the two answers conjured up in my head?

I also did not know the poached egg thing - obviously.

If I ever make them, I will remember it.
