Jamie Raskin said the Ds might vote for one of these as Speaker, if they were nominated by the Rs: Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, Angus King (Independent from Maine who I now need to know more about.

Can you imagine people's heads exploding if Cheney were to become Speaker? She's probably even less likely than Jeffries.

We kind of do need one, though; that position is actually named in the Constitution.

Or maybe they will figure out a way to give McHenry some temporary power. McHenry and his bowtie from WGAS in Gastonia. He has so far said all the right things, basically, "No comment, not my job."

We need them all to put on powdered wigs and start some fist-a-cuffs, like a real govermental body.

Will Rogers was once asked if he belonged to an organized political party. His response was, "No, I'm a Democrat." Perhaps that might be said of the Republicans today.

If dems were organized they'd figure out a compromise. Not like we need a speaker...

They, along with some moderate Republicans, have come up with a compromise - expand the powers of McHenry, the speaker pro tem, until January 3. But the MAGA Republicans rejected it because it was "working with the Democrats", which seems to be anathema to them (it's why Gaetz made the motion to vacate and remove McCarthy from office).

Yes, well there is that.
Side note, Gaetz would make a good psychopath movie character.

Definitely something off with that dude's (Gaetz') face. If it is genetic, I apologize, but it seems like you could trim your eyebrows a different way, or part your hair a different way, or something.

I mostly want people to celebrate what we have, hairwise, and not to wish we had something different, but there can be exceptions ...
