‘cept he acts like he is now a champion of border security. Sort of like a Putin now criticizing those opposed to helping Ukraine.

He was just telling people what was actually in the bill he backed and that Trump torpedoed.

Well, parts of it. The parts that were in place before he dismantled them.

She didn’t appeal to me. To much like, as my wife put it, an ASPCA pity commercial. I could hear Melissa Ethridge singing in the background.

It's enlightening to see that the Republicans' chief complaint about Biden's speech was he was too loud and aggressive (after spending weeks questioning whether Biden would even make it up to the podium to speak without tripping). I guess they've never listened to a single Donald Trump speech.

Don't look for any debates this fall. No way Trump wants to be on the same stage with Biden for two hours.

I'm sure that's why Trump's already offered, any time, any place.

Good. Will he agree to the same rules as last time, like no interruptions?

Biden will take up the "offer" and Trump will invent excuses not to debate. Trump does not want to stand face to face with Biden for two hours. He'll probably start calling him Obama during the debate.

You'll have to consult sss' crystal ball.

Looks like Katie Britt stretched the truth past the breaking point.

Short version: She told the story of a victim of sex trafficking and blamed her experience on President Biden’s border policies. The truth (as her office has now acknowledged) is the the woman was a Mexican citizen who was trafficked in Mexico during the Bush 43 Administration. Neither President Biden nor any President’s border policies bore any responsibility for her horrific experience.

She may well have been the type of person who came here claiming asylum, which means policies preferred by Republicans would have prevented her from finding refuge here. —Bob

Um, it was prominently pointed out that the events portrayed happened when this woman was a teenager and it was testifying about what happens to trafficked people. Which has increased a hundredfold under biden's 'policies'. How far will you go to excuse biden? I guess til the end of the earth. You concentrate on 'debunking' a minor point (and untruthfully) and ignore the main point. TDS is strong. But good try.

Follow up: The woman (Karla Jacinto) agrees that Britt's use of her story (without her permission, or even a head's up) was unfair because it was distorted (in a number of particulars). Video of her interview is included in the link. --Bob

So you are denying that human trafficking is occuring? And that with the open southern border it does not make it more likely to occur in this country? I think that is the main point here, regardless of the political infighting.

Bob gives ZERO shits about victims of the mess at the border, long as he gets his toilet scrubbed cheap and his avocados are plentiful.

Pick your poison. One who has proven he doesn't care who comes in, or one who has proven he will at least slow the flow. When your house is flooding, it's a whole lot easier to fix the problem if you turn off the water first.

So you are saying that human trafficking is not happening? On what, other than your preordained narrative, do you base that on? That it could only happen under a republican administration?

And this is why people like you cannot be reasoned with. Look at just the most recent evidence of "who is an awful man". The man who meets with and consoles with the family of a murdered woman, or the man who apologizes to her murderer for not being politically correct? You just go past that and ignore that, do not even comment on it. I just do not understand the depth of how people like you rationalize and completely ignore evidence that may contradict your deeply held, prejudiced notions. And then lecture those who don't agree with you like we're the morons.

And the problem with you Flock is that whenever someone investigates the "evidence" that you and Trump continually spout, it's incomplete, misleading or downright wrong. At which point you criticize us for nitpicking. Human trafficking exists; no one denies it. But the extent and how it's being done and the best ways to stop it are a different story.

Trump is more interested in grandstanding with grieving parents than actually solving problems.

While Biden's policies actively exacerbate the problem.

Why don't you expound on that, all-knowing one... What and how is it being done, and why hasn't it stopped? I guess not calling them illegal will put a stop to half of it. I guess catching them and releasing them will stop another quarter of human trafficking. The rest will be taken care of by releasing criminal 'newcomers' before they can be deported. Then when we manipulate elections so that the democrat party is in control of everything, we will have no problems to speak of. Because no one will be allowed to speak of any.
