Former President Trump Monday said abortion restrictions should be left to the states, backing away from a plan he floated recently for a nationwide ban on the practice after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee said different states could have more or less restrictive laws, a stance that disappointed anti-abortion conservatives.

A local woman just dumped Trump unceremoniously. She'll never vote for Biden or any other Dem, but Trump just sunk his boat as far as she's concerned, and I'll bet she's not the only one.

I've never heard Trump state any specific support for a National abortion ban. But I guess this is where the headline you quote comes from.

More fake news from the fake news industry. As I read it, it is the media that is interpreting what he said the way they always do. As far as I can tell, he never said anything in this article about a national anything. He specifically said it is up to the states.

In what universe does that equate to a national policy? Only in the TDS universe.

Please explain to me, in English, typing slowly for me so I can understand, how conservatives, of whom half are women are anti-woman. And how being pro-life is anti-woman, if that is what you equate it to, since half the lives saved are women (or would be) and half the folks that are pro-life are women.

Maybe phrase your explanation as a parable comparing how enforcing laws is racist, when those whom the laws are being enforced on mostly victimize people of their own race. Remember, I need it simple.

Or how men dressing up as women, with over done features such as make-up and boobs, prancing around is not misogynistic yet men painting their faces black playing a role as a black person is racist.

The law carries a penalty of 2-5 years in prison for violations. (I'm not sure if this applies to the woman, the doctor, or both.) The ruling will go into effect in 14 days. Backers of legalized abortions had already gathered enough signatures to place a measure on the November ballot that would enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution.

The timing of this decision for Trump and Lake is especially bad, considering how Trump shot his mouth off the day before the decision was reached.

And in answer to BiT's question, for a pregnant woman suffering severe prenatal complications who can't get adequate medical care in her own state, these anti-abortion laws are the most important issue she faces.

The highest rates of abortions are in the black, urban ghettos, I don't know about you, but when I think of areas where men are most concerned about women's rights and women in general and such-the black urban ghettos come first to mind.

But they are the ones that never talk of compromise. Trump discussed, in the article this topic is erroneously named after, what the consensus opinion of restricting abortions are as far as he could determine. Is anyone in the democrat party talking about compromise? Not that I know of. And they are the ones who advocate abortion until and sometimes after birth. And they are only talking about how Trump will put women in jail. They are the extremists.

I tried in the past to try and get a debate with the leftists here on what could be a workable solution to the question of abortion. It was telling that no one on the left who was serious really wanted to participate in that.
The left does not want to have a solution. They just want to drum up outrage that they can produce votes from.

Given the opportunity yesterday to repeal the 1864 law that Kari Lake, Donald Trump, and former Arizona Republican governor Doug Ducey decried, the Republican majority of the Arizona House voted to adjourn yesterday rather than take a vote on the repeal. Watch what Republicans do, not what they say in carefully scripted photo ops.

Mind you, I think there are exceptions to some abortion laws.

There is at least one logical fallacy in this line of thinking. If you carry it to its logical conclusion, any mother who miscarried could be charged with manslaughter.

And even though the author makes clear that it is purely hypothetical (often a sign of a fallacious argument), any doctor who delivered one twin at 25 weeks but left the other in to "bake" for another 15 would be lucky to be only charged with malpractice.

This question, though, is a clear sign of why we should be having serious, policy-oriented discussions about the morals and ethics of abortion.
