Re: TNPG Question Thread

#26 Post by hbomb1947 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:11 pm

My questions:

Q1. Place these words in order to form a nickname

1. Star
2. Lone
3. The
4. State

Q2. Place these Roman numerals in order of their numerical value, from lowest to highest

1. M
2. X
3. L
4. C

Q3. Place these movies in order of their first theatrical release, starting with earliest

1. Big Mama's House
2. Lake House
3. Animal House
4. Home Alone

Q4. Place these literary works in alphabetic order by the last name of their author

1. Hamlet
2. The Da Vinci Code
3. 1984
4. The Shining

(for this one, for each literary work, as soon as I wrote down the name of the work, I immediately placed the initial of the author's last name next to it on my answer sheet. So, for example, I had "Hamlet . . . .S." Then it was easy to enter in the letters in alphabetical order)

Q5. Place these food events in order starting with the earliest.
(I cringed when I heard the category, but after a SWAG I was talking to Happy Fred!)

1. Miller introduces Lite beer
2. Julia Child makes first TV appearance
3. Million dollar winner in Pillsbury bake-off
4. Newman's Own founded

The answers:
Spoiler
Q1. 3214
Q2. 2341
Q3. 3412
Q4. 2431
Q5. 2143 (I think)

That one is really hard! I would have been . . . at sea on it. And then I would have been sure to have an atlas by my side when I called Fred the following night . . .

That's a totally bogus question!

"Cane" is the source, not how refined it is. "Confectioner's" has smaller granules than regular sugar; it's not more refined!

By the way, is there a way to save this page to your computer with all the functionality of clicking spoiler space, etc., just in case this thread goes bye bye?

In other words, I hope there are no computer questions...

My goodness but I'm rusty too. I blew Q2 and knew I had as soon as I pushed it in. Not a fat-finger, just a brain fart.

Q1 Put these words in order to make a 1969 Beatles Song:

ChristieMartha hint of the day.

If you do not have confectioner's sugar, you can make it yourrself from granulated sugar by using your food processor.
