$25K: I knew for sure that "Lord of the Flies" and "The Outsiders" were wrong. Leaned toward "Trainspotting", but would've ATAed first.

And did that fast-becoming-annoying double wave to the audience.

From the comfort of my recliner I picked the right answer just from knowing what little I know of the movies made from those novels. In the Hot Seat, however, I'd have wanted something more tangible on which to hang my answer, so I'd have tried the 50/50 to see what remained. (I'm guessing it would be B and D.)

FWIW I checked your spoilers and you were right on both accounts - the dursting and the "terminal perkiness".

Did you get to perform any stupid human tricks? Normally the adjective stupid actually describes the tricks, but I think in the case of anyone on this show, it modifies the word directly following it...

I have seen idiot drivers pull off 180's doing all of these before...

$2,000
In a classic 1965 song, Bob Dylan repeatedly makes what request of Mr. Tambourine Man?

A: Tell me all your woes B: Play a song for me
C: Dance for me tonight D: Don't forget my name

Nina ran the sound board for her husband's rock band.

I'll bet that involved a lot of skill with all those buttons and dials. Then again, being the sound man for your husband's rock band probably only required the difficult task of pressing the Record and Play buttons at the same time on the 1983 boom box... er, "sound board".

$4,000
Displayed on all of their farming equipment, what are the trademark colors of the John Deere brand?

A: Pink & White B: Red & Blue
C: Black & Orange D: Green & Yellow

If this had been some WABC area business that most people outside of the Tri-state had never heard of before, it would be valued for about $500. It was only ranked this high because John Deere equipment doesn't work very well on concrete. The sad thing is that's not even a sarcastic statement, that's the goddamn truth!

$8,000
In the 1920s, a doubling cube was added to what game to make it more exciting?

A: Backgammon B: Checkers
C: Dominoes D: Parcheesi

Just like the Switch the Question lifeline was added to this show to make it even more boring and tedious by showing one more question that won't possibly be answered....

$16,000
What exotic tourist destination's name means "endless plain" in the local tongue?

A: Machu Picchu B: Patagonia
C: Serengeti D: Angkor Wat

ATA: A: 12% B: 10% C: 73% D: 5%

I am truly shocked by the high audience response to this question! They must have cleared all of Kate's family out of there before Nina came on...

Nina's husband, Michael, is in the audience. He's very proud of her.

Ask him later which choice he voted for. Who knows, he may have been sitting on the ATA device...

$25,000

PAF: Nina calls Eric.

Time keeps on slipping, slipping....

Eric: Four characters in what novel? And the novel choices are?

Nina: Lord of the Flies, Fight Club, The Outsiders, Trainspotting. Four seconds!

Eric: Lord of the Flies.

Nina: Thank you!

On behalf of everyone out there who will now get a fresh contestant in the seat, you are very welcome.

Nina trust him and goes with Lord of the Flies.

Nina drops to $1,000.

Adios Nina. Hmmmm, now I've got the uncontrollable urge to go up to my spokesman and yell over and over "Kill the beast!"

I did know Trainspotting, having seen the movie.

On the other hand, I had never heard that meaning for Serengeti. I'm also suprised that the audience knew it so convincingly. I suppose that I would have ATA'd there, but maybe I would've 50-50'd hoping that I could make an educated guess amongst the remaining two choices.

Nina's appearance earned her a very brief blurb in a local newspaper column, just before the congratulations for Miss Naples Teen USA making the top five in the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant, but well below the notice of somebody earning his Eagle Scout award.

$8,000: I would have ATA
16,000: Would have PAF
$25,000: Would have needed 50:50 but probably would have gotten it right.

8K: Its not checkers or dominos. 50/50 would work, but I think I'd save it & ATA instead here.

25K: Know it isn't Lord of the Flies, & that's about it. PAF a Googler. Or a fan of those movies?
