A. Liza Minnelli
B. Madonna
C. Cher
D. Princess Diana

+1

Christa says in 1981,
Spoiler
Madonna was busy, Princess Diana’s wedding was a pretty big deal and she’s not sure how big a fan Diana would have been of the show.
So that leaves Liza Minnelli and Cher and she believes that Liza Minnelli would have the type of temperament to send champagne to a fictional wedding.

Chris says that they can agree that
Spoiler
Princess Diana
is the one choice they can flat out eliminate.

Chris decides to walk.

20K: This hinges on knowing who got married in '81. I think Diana did around then only because a co-worker's Scottish parent made then watch wedding. And I'd throw whatever lifelines I have anyway, to be sure.

Got this one based on the year. It's a shame they ruled out the right answer from the start.

I'm curious as to what they think
Spoiler
Madonna was busy with in 1981? Unless by "busy" they mean "poor". I mean she didn't have a much-publicized wedding in 1981 so she was out but Madonna was almost completely unknown in 1981 and apparently living in an abandoned synagogue/commune in Queens. She did release a couple of singles in 1982 but she didn't have a hit until 1983 with "Holiday".
No matter where you go, there you are.

I dunno what lifelines I have left, but I use them all.

Probably sayonara.
