Shad is an accomplished stage actor and director, so he has to appreciate the irony of his show airing while a massive fire is consuming his home town. Even more ironic (and a slight spoiler): his $500 question is about fire safety.

50K: OK, I know you can drive A w/o extra states because I live in New England. Just for the record, NY State does border Mass on the west, as well as does Connecticut.

Otherwise: I've driven in all these areas but long, long ago & am weakest on Northwest/Plains.

Call +1 & hope we can hash it out. 50/50 if haven't used already.

I liked this guy. When I saw Santa Rosa I thought, blurg, can he even watch the airing...

Why has no one pointed out that South Dakota is in the way? Have we lost an entire good-sized state?

You could go through Montana instead. But you'd miss Mt. Rushmore. But you could see the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. Both are wonderful. Both were stops on our trip last year.

BTW, Shad is no relation, at least close enough that I'd know.

It's funny. It's on at 1:30 here and my respite from Disney and Nick jr, along with J. Haven't watched either so much in years!

Shad did mention having to go through Montana or South Dakota, which led me to believe he would either get it right or walk.
I knew that it had to be that answer, although I independently was not 100% on TN-MO, thinking maybe TN only faced AR when crossing the Mississippi. Maybe I did not pay enough attention to those eclipse path maps as I was way out in Oregon.

I wonder if a large bit of deliberation was edited out. That was an awfully quick swerve he took.

That would have been a dream question for me as I've driven through all of the lower 48 states.

I even knew that Missouri dangles down to touch Tennessee.

50K: I know you'd have to go through either Montana or South Dakota to get from North Dakota to Wyoming, so it has to be B.
