Steven SpielBored Presents...The Tangredi Code

#1 Post by Steven Spielbored » Tue Dec 05, 2017 10:25 pm

Scene: The Bored curator SilverScreenSelect is found dead in a political thread.

The End

The Tangredi Code (Director’s Cut)

Scene: The Bored curator SilverScreenSelect is found dead in a political thread. Several clues are left nearby.

Image

Scene: World-renowned Bored-ologist TBone Langdon is brought in to investigate.

Image

He is joined by Beebs Neveu, a master puzzle solver and the granddaughter of the late SSS.

Image

Beebs uses a black light to discovers an important clue…

Image

Beebs: It says “45A, 45B, 58P, 2-2, 1-3, 2-5.” What does it mean?

TBone: I’m not sure. But I know who does. We must investigate this. But first, a serious pose:

Image

Scene: TBone and Beebs realize they are being followed (probably by Republicans),

Image

And the chase is on.

Image

Scene: Along the way, they come across a mysterious box in an unused FNGD thread.

Image

with a special device inside

Image

TBone: What is it?

Beebs: A Bored cryptex. They are used to keep Bored secrets. You post something on a papyrus scroll which is then rolled
around a thin glass vial of vinegar. If you force it open, the vial breaks, vinegar dissolves papyrus, and your Bored secret is
lost forever. The only way to log on is to spell out the password with these five dials, each with 26 letters. That's 12 million
possibilities.

TBone: I've never met a girl who knew *that* much about a Bored cryptex.

Beebs: Obviously you’ve never met a French girl.

Image

TBone: I’ve heard French girls are easy.

Beebs: Well that’s certainly true. Perhaps we should pose again.

TBone: Let’s do it.

Image

TBone: Oh crap. We’ve been photobombed.

Scene: TBone and Beebs meet up with LB Teabing, yet another expert on puzzles

Image

TBone: We found this message in the political thread where SSS was killed. Do you know what it means?

LB: Let’s see. 45A, 45B, 58P, 2-2, 1-3, 2-5. Interesting sequence of numbers. Let’s start with the first set, 45A, 45B, 58P.
I’m pretty sure it means ‘identify the 45 movies in List A and the 45 actors in List B. Then, form 58 pairs, each consisting of
one movie and one actor, according to a Tangredi’.

Beebs: What’s a Tangredi?

Image

LB: A Tangredi is a principle you must discover for yourself. Named after world famous playwright Frank Tangredi.

TBone: Yeah, like that’s his real name.

LB: I wouldn’t make that up.

Image

TBone: What about the second set of numbers? What are 2-2, 1-3, 2-5?

LB: It means two movies will be used twice, one will be used three times, and two will be used five times. It’s called the
Tangredi Code. All you need to do is find the right game, put the number into the Bored cryptex and the mystery is solved.

Beebs: None of this makes any sense.

Image

LB: Well, at least we’re not pissing off the Catholics, now are we?

Scene: TBone and Beebs set off to find the Tangredi Codes hidden in The Bored.

Image

They hurry through the crowded threads…

Image

because it’s more suspenseful when you run. Especially when being chased by a tiger.

Image

Scene: They keep trying the Tangredi Codes…

Image

Beebs: This is tiring. We need to stop and pose.

TBone: How’s this?

Image

Beebs: Perfect.

Scene: They keep trying the Tangredi Codes…

Image

TBone: Next is Game of Terror. That’s number 173.

Beebs: That doesn’t work, either.

Image

TBone: How about The Singer and the Song? It’s number 158.

Beebs: No.

TBone: I’ll bet it’s 164, Out of Order.

Al Pacino: I’m not out of order. You’re out of order!

Image

Al Pacino: This whole crappy promo is out of order!

Image

Beebs: What was that?

Image

TBone: I’m not entirely sure. I didn’t write the screenplay.

Image

Beebs: Well, they say the screenplay’s the thing.

TBone: What did you say?

Beebs: I said the screenplay’s the thing?

TBone: Let me see that Bored Cryptex.

Image

TBone: Finally, we’ve solved the Tangredi Code.

Beebs: This ending doesn’t make any sense. You can’t just take any crappy movie and turn it into a crappy promo, can you?

Image

TBone: Apparently. Anyway, game number 158 is called The Screenplay’s The Thing. That’s where the Tangredi
code comes from. I put that into the Bored Cryptex and voila!

Beebs: What does it say?

Image

TBone: This is incredible. I can’t believe we’ve been used. LB set us up.

Image

Beebs: It’s a message of great importance. Let’s read it together:

I love it. This may be the best ever promo. . . or promo of a promo of a promo.

Beebs, your hair looks great, too. You should keep it like that for a while. T-bone, your hair looks dorky, but I know that's the director's fault. He's probably jealous of your boyish good looks and natural curls n' stuff.

(A) I can't believe you went back and researched all those past games. That's dedication!

(B) Hooray for LS coming back! I look forward to working on that every morning

(C) To tide us over, I have one more lyrics game of my own to post as soon as the current game is finished.

Yeah...that...ummmm...must be it.

Truthfully, more and more of that "Natural curls n' stuff" disappears with each turn of the calendar. When I get up in the morning I'm starting to look like some hybrid of Bozo the Clown and Larry of The Three Stooges.

As for the "boyish good looks", that ship sank some time ago...and even then it was probably more like a rowboat
