Oprah just mis-spoke on the Golden Globes
She was speaking of the rapists of Recy Taylor, who "in the era of Jim Crow were never persecuted". Must have meant "prosecuted". Though considering what they did they could have used some persecution too.
This was part of her acceptance speech for Cecil B. DeMille award.

I hear she also was quoted something about "your own truth" or "your truth". What does that mean? There is only one truth.

There is only one truth, but each person only knows a part of the universal truth. Remember the story about the blind men and the elephant. I doubt she is going to run, and I don't think she should. I hope "no more celebrity Presidents" is one of the many takeaways from the current national embarrassment.

My takeaway is no more stupid, racist, Presidents who think getting away with sexual assault is something worth bragging about.
