Lyrically Speaking - 2/13/18

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Tue Feb 13, 2018 8:22 am

Are you ready for one last Tuesday Wordplay game for the 2018 LSWE? Twelve songs. One common word. 31 points for the taking. Make me proud of my players!

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you (ooh)

2. Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only the shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

3. The more I think about it, Ol' Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers - kill 'em tonight

4. You keep your distance via the system of touch
And gentle persuasion
I'm lost in admiration could I need you this much
Oh you're wasting my time
You're just, just wasting time.

5. You can take me to paradise
And then again you can be cold as ice

6. how many times
did we give up
but we always worked things out
and all my doubts and fear
kept me wondering
if i'd always be in love

7. I'll make you happy (make you happy)
You'll never be blue (never be blue)
You'll have no sorrow (have no sorrow)
'Cause I'll always be true (always be true)

8. Within the prison walls of my mind
There`s still a part of you left behind
And though it hurts I`ll get by

9. All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window

10. She changed the lock on my back door
Now my key, it won't fit no more

11. You know, my temperature's risin'
and the jukebox blows a fuse.
My heart's beatin' rhythm
and my soul keeps on singin' the blues.

12. Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate

The most fun I've had watching television in a long while, watching agility dogs go over, around, and through the Westminster course. I don't know if this is Grand Champion Agility dog Fame, but that intensity and speed are captured here.

Spoiler
Are you ready for one last Tuesday Wordplay game for the 2018 LSWE? Twelve songs. One common word. 31 points for the taking. Make me proud of my players!

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you (ooh)

BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER-Simon & Garfunkel

2. Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only the shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

DON'T DREAM IT'S OVER-Crowded House

3. The more I think about it, Ol' Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers - kill 'em tonight

4. You keep your distance via the system of touch
And gentle persuasion
I'm lost in admiration could I need you this much
Oh you're wasting my time
You're just, just wasting time.

HEAD OVER HEELS-Tears For Fears

5. You can take me to paradise
And then again you can be cold as ice

OVER MY HEAD-Fleetwood Mac

6. how many times
did we give up
but we always worked things out
and all my doubts and fear
kept me wondering
if i'd always be in love

7. I'll make you happy (make you happy)
You'll never be blue (never be blue)
You'll have no sorrow (have no sorrow)
'Cause I'll always be true (always be true)

GLAD ALL OVER-The Dave Clark Five

8. Within the prison walls of my mind
There`s still a part of you left behind
And though it hurts I`ll get by

9. All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window

WHEN IT'S OVER-Sugar Ray

10. She changed the lock on my back door
Now my key, it won't fit no more

11. You know, my temperature's risin'
and the jukebox blows a fuse.
My heart's beatin' rhythm
and my soul keeps on singin' the blues.

ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN-ELO

12. Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate

THE SEARCH IS OVER-Survivor

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that contains the magic word of the day.

OVER THE RAINBOW-Judy Garland

Image Bonus: If you know the key word, show me a fitting image.
