OK, I looked up these last two just so we can finish the song list:

93. People standin',
Standin' in a trance.
Sister out in the backyard
Doin' the outside dance.

LICKING STICK-James Brown

94. Now you'll be my girl,
That's what I want.
Just you, sweet girl,
And not a front.

JUST LIKE ME-Paul Revere & The Raiders

All the songs on here are right, but one has a wrong title. That will work itself out.

Don't lose the original instructions:
Identify the 100 songs below. Then, match them into 25 groups of four according to a Tangredi, or principle you must discover for yourself. No song will be used twice.

Note: in cases where artists are significant, I usually go with the original, but in some cases, a definitive cover might take precedence.

I’m not sure if this game is easy or difficult. I’m just hoping it won’t yield any alternate matches.
Are you ready for an additional hint about the Tangredi?

Double-checking all of the titles, I saw three that needed corrections:

The full title of #21 is OVERNIGHT SENSATION (HIT RECORD).

The full title of #51 is GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT (EVERYBODY DANCE NOW).

The actual title of #85 is A HYMN TO HIM. earendel gave the opening line to that song from My Fair Lady.

None of that amended information gets me any closer to the Tangredi. A hint would certainly not be out of the question right now.

25. YOU JUST KEEP ME HANGING ON, The Supremes
This might be the song title he is referring to as I believe the title is "You Keep Me Hangin' On".

I guess I should have said that only one title is wrong in a way that matters. In any case, you found it.

Okay, here are two hints in addition to those I've already given:

(A) Somebody made an observation that I thought might lead to the Tangredi, but veered off in the wrong direction.

(B) You're looking for foursomes, but it would help to think of those foursomes as two pairs.

I wish I had more time to spend on this.

Frank's comment about "don't crack your brain" seemed a pretty obvious hint, but I couldn't come up with anything for it. I thought of "This is your brain on drugs," and the fact that some people malaprop "crack your brain" for "wrack your brain."

One thing I find curious in the instructions is that Frank designed the game to not re-use any answers. That almost never happens in a Tangredi game, so it must be significant.

I noticed we've got The Lazy Song, The Logical Song, and The Wedding Song all on here. If we'd just had The Thong Song...

I thought about incorporating letters of the alphabet into key words. So if Yellow Balloon is on there for the word Yellow, we could also throw in Donovan (Mellow Yellow), Joni Mitchell (Big Yellow Taxi, and Bobby Darin (18 Yellow Roses).

Romance (Fred and Ginger) would get us Bad Romance -- Lady Gaga. But I break down there.

This DIAMOND Ring, Diamond Girl (Seals and Crofts), ??

Sure seems like there should be something there, but not enough of a pattern to click

It's unusual that there are so many two and three-hit wonders on here, especially for the song they're NOT most associated with. Rydell = Wild One and Volare, Monkees = any number of songs, etc.

Could there be something like lb's LS game a couple of weeks ago, with the telescoping titles?

That wasn't a hint, except to the fact that the artist for that one didn't matter.

I was hoping that Beast would have been right about some word tricks going on here, like doing one work trick on one half of the foursome and another word trick on the second half of the foursome to make a two-word title that has some relevance to the Tangredi... but that kinda falls apart when we get to the long one-word titles like "Complicated" and "Sussudio".

Another observation to throw out for those of you who are much better at untangling these puzzles than I am....

War's second most popular song is in this game. Uneasy RIDER is also in this game.

Now, there isn't a LOW a song, which doesn't surprise me since I think this goes a little beyond putting words in title together as is more typical of a Tangredi lyrics game...

BUT..... there is a single HIGH song in this game, and the A to Z title got me thinking of opposites.... in particular, reading the title as turning A into Z.

Now, I can't see a way that meshes with the hint about thinking of the foursomes as two pairs. But maybe someone else can....

Or I could be on the wrong trail, as always.....

There are a bunch of antonym-like words in this puzzle so there may be something to it.

So here's a first effort. It will almost certainly need refining, because I could see tons of alternate matches if this were all it is to it, but maybe you all can help me out with refining it.

Key word from one song in the list is paired with an artist who did a song with the same key word, and two other artists who did songs with the opposite of the key word. Examples:

47 Let it GO + 45 Gino Vannelli (I Just Wanna STOP) + 46. Hollies (Bus STOP) + 21 Raspberries (GO all the way)

19. Make it EASY on yourself + 23. Chicago (HARD habit to break) + 100. Elvis Presley (HARD Headed Woman) + 32. Eagles (Peaceful EASY feeling)

57 A LITTLE bit me… + 33. Peter Gabriel (BIG Time) + 92. Supertramp (Give a LITTLE Bit) + 97. Joni Mitchell (BIG Yellow Taxi)

That looks good to me. Piggybacking onto Beast's suggestion of War's LOW Rider, I know of at least two other HIGH songs that could match with it and #17. Either Diana Ross (Ain't No Mountain HIGH Enough) or Toni Braxton (You're Makin' Me HIGH). Obviously, both of them can't be right because the foursome has to be two HIGHs and two LOWs. If we had Garth Brooks on here, we could have completed this foursome Friends in LOW Places. I can't think of any other LOW songs right now.

You've got the theme right but not the mechanics. You're going to drive yourself crazy with too many options.

Having said that, one of the foursomes suggested above has the second half exactly right. You just have to notice something else about it.

Having said that, one of the foursomes suggested above has the second half exactly right. You just have to notice something else about it.

The Hollies also had Stop Stop Stop, and I was wondering if that played into it somehow... but can't see that working with two pairs.

mrk's placement also had me thinking of the line Bus stop, Bus go... which comes back to something I noticed before we had the theme that there were a couple songs (A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You - Follow Me, Follow You) that kinda supplied their own opposites. I can't see that factoring into this either...

What if we don't need two pairs of opposites per foursome? What if we need just one pair of opposites? I realized that we have 70. All the Way and 87. Magic Bus. What if we're using parts of one song title and adding one of the opposite words to make the new titles? Like this:

70. ALL THE WAY + 87. Magic BUS = GO ALL THE WAY (21. THE RASPBERRIES) + BUS STOP (46. THE HOLLIES)

Another foursome that works this way:

63. No More Tears (ENOUGH Is Enough) + 24. The Impression That I GET = STRONG ENOUGH (43. SHERYL CROW) + I GET WEAK (81. BELINDA CARLISLE)

WTG, Fireball! Here's a consolidation ...

1. SINGLE LADIES (PUT A RING ON IT), Beyonce
