Legendary comic-book artist. Co-creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange (and their assorted villains), creator of The Creeper, among others.

Spidey was/is without question my favorite comic book hero. As deep and rich as most characters in more "respectable" literary fiction. Ditko's art captured the many moods of young Peter Parker..the anguish, guilt, worries, and yes, the bouts of pure joy on occasion..with perfection. Most folks don't realize how big a role the artist plays in the creation of a comic book character.


Thanks, Mr. Ditko, for your huge contribution to the creation of a dude whose web-slinging activities still thrill 56 years later.
