This will piss someone off
If Ocasio Cortez was an ugly person she wouldn't be in the news.

Re: This will piss someone off
She is in the news because the Republicans want to cast her as a wild eyed radical socialist who every Democrat is looking to for guidance. They are desperate to find something to rally their base and figure she's their best shot. She doesn't get mentioned in the left wing press nearly as often as right wingers keep bringing her up.Beebs52 wrote:If Ocasio Cortez was an ugly person she wouldn't be in the news.

Let's see how many times she makes the news a year from now.

Ocasio-Cortez beat powerful congressman Joe Crowley. She could look like Thanos and she'd still be in the news.Beebs52 wrote:If Ocasio Cortez was an ugly person she wouldn't be in the news.
Here's a Time cover from early this year.
They're all in the news, but not all of them as as pretty as Ocasio-Cortez. (If I say any more, I'll piss someone off.)

As a freshman Congressman she probably won't be in the news that much. But she eventually will be.lilclyde54 wrote:Let's see how many times she makes the news a year from now.

Seems to me that Dave Brat got a fair amount of coverage when he primaried Eric Cantor. Not so much, since. —Bob

Can't figure out if this is just a random example or if Bob# thinks Brat is ugly or attractive or what.silverscreenselect wrote:Funny you should say that:Bob78164 wrote:Seems to me that Dave Brat got a fair amount of coverage when he primaried Eric Cantor. Not so much, since. —Bob

I wasn’t aware of the status of Brat’s current re-election campaign. He was just an example I remembered of a Republican insurgent primarying a member of his party’s House leadership. —BobBeebs52 wrote:Can't figure out if this is just a random example or if Bob# thinks Brat is ugly or attractive or what.silverscreenselect wrote:Funny you should say that:Bob78164 wrote:Seems to me that Dave Brat got a fair amount of coverage when he primaried Eric Cantor. Do you have any actual statistics to back this up?silverscreenselect wrote:She doesn't get mentioned in the left wing press nearly as often as right wingers keep bringing her up.

So that's a big fat NO to any actual statistics to support your claim?silverscreenselect wrote:https://www.dailydot.com/layer8/ocasio- ... palestine/Estonut wrote:Do you have any actual statistics to back this up?silverscreenselect wrote:She doesn't get mentioned in the left wing press nearly as often as right wingers keep bringing her up.

There weren't any stats in Beebs' original statement either. Why don't you give her some crap for a change?Estonut wrote: So that's a big fat NO to any actual statistics to support your claim?

She stated what was clearly just her opinion.silverscreenselect wrote:There weren't any stats in Beebs' original statement either. Why don't you give her some crap for a change?Estonut wrote: So that's a big fat NO to any actual statistics to support your claim?
You, on the other hand, said:
• She is in the news because the Republicans want to cast her as a wild eyed radical socialist who every Democrat is looking to for guidance.
• They are desperate to find something to rally their base and figure she's their best shot.
• She doesn't get mentioned in the left wing press nearly as often as right wingers keep bringing her up.
Your first two statements are your typical blanket statements that "all Republicans" this or "they are" that. Such statements are nearly always false and always bullshit. In this case, not one of my Republican friends has even mentioned her.
Your third statement sounds as if you are stating fact. Such a statement should be provable. Yours is not because you, once again, pulled it out of your ass.
