(1) Secretary of State Brian Kemp, whose office oversees the upcoming elections and who just happens to be the Republican gubernatorial candidate announced that his office would be investigating an alleged attempted hack of Georgia's voter registration system by the state Democratic Party. Of course, he provided no evidence whatsoever of this alleged hack but felt it was important enough to announce to the entire world news media. According to a Kemp spokesperson:
The Democratic party and candidate Stacey Abrams have vehemently denied the allegations. Kemp's office has referred the matter to the FBI and Homeland Security which are not commenting. Democrats have also complained about the state's entirely computerized voting system in the past being vulnerable to potential hacks. That's typical Republican tactics: accuse the opposition of doing something they actively tried to prevent from happening."While we cannot comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation, I can confirm that the Democratic Party of Georgia is under investigation for possible cyber crimes. We can also confirm that no personal data was breached and our system remains secure."
(2) A white supremacist group (translated: proud Republicans) has sent out a robocall mocking Oprah Winfrey and Stacey Abrams in which a voice pretending to be Oprah said that the "Jews who own the American media [used Oprah] to trick dumb white women." The robocall also had ugly things to say about Abrams.
