When talking about the longest streak of right answers without using a lifeline, we usually talk about John Carpenter, David Goodman and Steve Perry, who answered 14 questions before using their first lifeline.

But how about the contestant(s) who answered the most questions AFTER using their LAST lifeline?

Nancy Christy - used last lifeline on Q9 - won $1,000,000.
Phil Gibbons - used last lifeline on Q8 - won $500,000.

Both Nancy and Phil answered six questions with no lifelines available to them. Is that the record? Anybody top that?

How about Ed Toutant? I'm not sure when he ran out of lifelines.

I once went through all 15 questions at Disney's Play It! without using a lifeline at all.

My mistake. I thought it said Super Bowl history.

I'll bet.

I've noticed there aren't many eateries serving anything called "Philly Special" here in NE.

I looked up Ed's run last night when I saw this post, he used his last lifeline at 1.8 million, but otherwise from 32 - 500 he did not use a lifeline, very impressive.

My memory is that Ed used all three of his lifelines on his new $32,000 question but I haven't looked at his run in a long time so I could be wrong. --Bob

It was a new $16,000 question since the glowing potato Q was for 16K (I saw the latter from one of the best seats in the house). I recalled he burned ATA and PAF right away on the new 16K and knew he cruised to the 1.86M question unaided... but really have no recollection of his use of the 50/50 (Which was obviously on the last Q).
