I don't know...I knew it because I read a business related article on them a few years ago and being Swedish stuck in my mind. Maybe it's because I used to drive a Saab, but I tend to remember when things are Swedish. Saab, Ikea and H&M...maybe I'm just weird.

Plus I am a dork in that I check where all my clothes are from before I buy them (nice to know if I think it will fall apart before I buy it) and I've seen Stockholm on their tags.

But even if I didn't know it...I wouldn't associate it with France. If they had UK as a choice that would be tough since there are tons of stores over there. I think he just got scared and if he were at home he would've answered correctly.

Well, sure, if you shop there, I can understand that you'd be familiar with them. But, since I can't say I ever heard of H&M before this episode, I was wondering if that was one of those things all women would be aware of or just those who like certain styles.

I've been to H & M many times while in NYC. My kids love it. They play loud rock music and cater to the "younger" generation. Prices are great but you have to stand in line to get a dressing room for quite a while. I would hold a place in line for the dressing room while they picked out stuff to try on. It took that long to get a dressing room.


SC, I think you and I may have gone in while we were in NYC. There is a nice store right around Rockefeller Plaza.

However, I never knew what H & M stood for or what country it might represent. I have spent plenty of money there, for what it's worth.

I don't consider myself a "Trendy New Yorker"

I think it's more of a regional thing. And a cheapness thing. I have literally gotten entire outfits for $20 there. But we have one in our quiet suburban mall, otherwise I wouldn't go there that often myself.
