Suits: LA, a spinoff of the popular cable series has been picked up by NBC. It stars Stephen Amell (from the CW series, The Arrow) as a former federal prosecutor who has reinvented himself as a high-powered LA defense attorney and has to deal with crises of conscience. Bran Greenberg and John Amos co-star. Also coming to NBC is The Grosse Point Gardening Society, a mystery series about a group suburban housewives who are members of a gardening club and get caught up in various cases. AnnaSophia Robb, Ben Rappaport, Aja Naomi King, and Nancy Travis star.

In a similar vein but with a much higher wattage cast is The Thursday Murder Club, to be a Netflix movie. It's based on the bestselling novel by Richard Osman and is about a group of seniors in a retirement community who meet every week to discuss real-life unsolved mysteries and get involved in one themselves. Sort of like Only Murders in the Building. The cast is very impressive: Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, and David Tennant. Chris Columbus is writing and directing.
