I don't think it's been reported here before, but Prime Video will debut an eight-episode Alex Cross series (titled Cross) with all episodes dropping on November 14. Aldis Hodge plays Cross, and the supporting cast includes Isiaih Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, and Ryan Eggold. A second season has already been ordered. Although the characters are based on those in the James Patterson series, this season is not based on any specific novel(s). The creator says they will take "the bone structure of that world and fill it up with a beautiful story."
There have been three movies based on specific Cross novels, two starring Morgan Freeman and a more recent one with Tyler Perry.

Maybe the material is just not very good, James Patterson or not.
