And I had forgotten until ear mentioned it during my Rankings retrospective last year that ear actually did produce a rankings list or two before handing the task off to me. It is probably just as well that ear was not able to hold on to the job, because I can't imagine anyone else would have banged their head against the wall as much as I have over the last 6 years of rot and lost Boreds to keep track of this stuff for you guys! Who am I kidding? I love my job....

Maybe this is why I kept letting my posting of the answers slip. This was a flawed question based on a lessened grasp of Bored history I have outside of the first couple years. I was aiming for Peacock and Sting here since I had remembered them appearing back-to-back, but as Pea posted in this thread, there were a couple episodes in between their appearances, so this was a lousy question.

It has been 8 months since HoltDad became the 34th member of the 5-digit club, and it will be a while before we get our 35th member. I predicted at the time, before he was even in the Top 50, that BobJuch would be the next to make it to 10K. But with mrkelley burning up the keyboard lately, and PSM rocketing up the charts, that prediction may be out the window...

For some reason, I thought that I had already reached 10,000 posts.

LB, I must applaud you for keeping track of all that trivia. While I'm sure that I would be able to answer a fair number of the questions, it was fun just to walk down this memory lane. So many names from posters that I have not heard from in years. Those were certainly some fun times! I would be curious to find out just how many other tidbits you have tucked away in that tome of yours. Bravo!

Good old Rule #8, which went thusly:

8. Future Player Pool: Game Sponsor reserves the right to conduct additional
random drawings from among players as described below ("Player Pool") to
qualify for Playoff Games for future episodes of the On-Air Program. All
players who correctly answered all three (3) questions, selected a Tape Date
and specific episode, if applicable, to qualify for and completed all other
requirements during the Round I telephone calls from August 25, 2000 through
February 1, 2001, and who did not become a Contestant on the Main Game during
episodes of the On-Air Program broadcast from October 3, 2000, through May 31,
2001, are eligible at the discretion of the Game Sponsor for random drawings
to qualify to become a Semifinalist and participate in Playoff Game(s) for
future episodes of the On-Air Program. If the Game Sponsor decides to use
the "Player Pool" for future episodes of the On-Air Program two hundred (200)
players for each Tape Date and specific episode, if applicable, will be
selected in a random drawing from the Player Pool. Players selected in a
random drawing will receive an eligibility call by a representative of the
Contest to qualify them as Semifinalists to play a Round II Semifinal Round
Playoff Game. Eligibility calls will be made daily during the hours of 12 noon
to 3PM ET using the telephone number entered by the player during the Round I
telephone call that the player wanted to be contacted as if selected in a
random drawing. Representatives of the On-Air Program will make two (2)
attempts to reach each player following same procedures as outlined previously
