$16K: I knew Dolly Parton was, from seeing the commercials. After that, I have to PAF.

$50K: Even though this turned out to be a question about wars, I actually knew this one. Paratroopers during WWII first used that exclamation.

$100K: I watched the Beatles retrospective on ABC several years ago. Pretty sure it's not supermarket or hospital. Jay Thomas has been a radio DJ for many years. This question might be in his wheelhouse. I'll ask him first. If he has nothing, I'll Double Dip on train, then church.

After this, Meredith made a comment about how much harder questions like this are to figure out now. Right, Meredith, that's why the damned clock is ruining the game!

doitneatly commented about this quote in another thread; it bothered me, too. Jay, your question ought to be directed at TPTB. What makes somebody an expert (besides, in the case of celebrities, wanting to plug their shows)? What correspondence is there between their fields of expertise and the question stacks? If there is none, then they're not experts, are they? But if you're doing the job, why not explain your reasoning as best you can instead of making snide jokes?

I quickly had in my mind John Quincy Adams, Aquarius, and Quebec. My problem was I didn't key in on the 'any' part of the question and was quickly trying to roll through the states. Had I been in the hot seat, who know if I would have used a lifeline to stop the clock.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

I have this question in reverse on one of my WWTBAM cellphone games. It's worded as "Which letter does not appear in the name of any U.S. state?" Can't recall the level.

I've seen a few of the cellphone game questions show up in one form or another on the show. I guess I had better keep playing and studying.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I don't think this is a correct answer. The accounts I read said that Paul heard John playing at a "garden fete" and "a church social". While this appears to be either on church grounds or in a church hall, I think it is incorrect to say it was "in a church." Maybe we'll be seeing Alex again.
